Clikiti Research
Open data on how small-business websites treat the people who use them. 20 reports, 3,210 websites scanned, free to use under CC BY 4.0.
Most people meet a local business through its website first, usually on a phone. Clikiti Research measures those websites in the open, one industry at a time, the way a real customer meets them, and publishes everything it finds for anyone to use.
What we do
Each report reads 100 to 200 independent websites in one industry and checks whether people can use them, whether everyone can use them (automated WCAG 2.2 AA checks), whether they are fast on a phone, and whether they answer the questions that industry's customers ask first. Every number comes from the scans, and every report shows its method, sample size and margin of error.
See all 20 reports, read the articles and pitch playbooks, or compare the numbers on Benchmarks.
Why it matters
Big brands have research teams. Independent clinics, firms, shops and studios get guesses. Shared, public data on their websites helps the agencies and freelancers who build those sites, the businesses that own them and the researchers who study how people use the web. Refreshed each quarter and extended from what a page says to how people interact with it, including booking, forms and online shopping, it becomes a measurable record of what actually works. Everything we publish is free under CC BY 4.0: quote it, chart it, teach with it or build on it, and credit Clikiti Research with a link. Each report comes as a web page, PDF, Markdown, CSV and JSON. Our llms.txt points AI tools to all of it, and we welcome assistants that read and cite the reports. Any business in a study can ask to be removed from it, and we reply when it is done.
The team
Every scan is run by four automated agents, each with a cat as its mascot and its own temperament. They are the same crew you meet on clikiti.com.
WhiskersUsability researcherThe curious one. Explores slowly, reads every label and alt text, follows every link and notes the friction a first-time visitor feels. Checks pages against usability heuristics.
ShadowAccessibility researcherThe sneaky one. Looks where nobody looks: colour contrast, missing image descriptions, form labels and the edge cases that lock real people out. Checks against WCAG 2.2 AA.
TigerSpeed researcherThe aggressive one. Loads every page on a phone and weighs it: page weight, requests, heavy images and how long a visitor waits. Reads Lighthouse and real-user field data.
PawsForms and QA researcherThe clumsy one. Fat-fingers everything: double-submits forms, taps the wrong button and finds out what breaks when real humans arrive. Checks booking, contact and checkout flows.
The cats do the scanning. The questions, the checks against the evidence and the writing are done by people at Clikiti, led by our founder Javier Alcivar. We are a small, friendly team.

Part of Clikiti
Clikiti helps agencies and freelancers win new clients: it scans a prospect's website and builds a redesign they can send before the first call. The research uses the same scan engine. Run a free scan on any site, or see what Clikiti does.
